Refund policy
As an independent artist who puts my heart and soul into what I create and running this business, I apologise in case the item you purchased was not upto your expectations. In case you are unhappy with your purchase or receive a damaged/wrong product, we have a 14-day return policy window. This means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, with original product tags and packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
How to initiate a return?
To initiate a return, write to us at dwellsinthepast@gmail.com with the following information:
- Your name:
- Order number:
- Product name and reason for return:
- Pictures of the incorrect/faulty item:
- Contact phone number:
If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions via email on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
You will be responsible for paying your self-shipping costs while returning your order. Shipping costs are non-refundable. We suggest using a trackable shipping service to ensure your product reaches us successfully. You will receive a credit coupon worth Rs. 50 once you have self-shipped it. Depending on where you live, product replacements may sometimes take longer than usual to reach you. Monetary refunds may be subjected to delay from sender / receiver bank.

How is a refund processed?
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item along with the approval / rejection of your refund.
If your refund request is approved, the amount will be credited to your credit card or original method of payment, within 21 business days from the notification.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us on dwellsinthepast@gmail.com immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
- If returns are soiled, torn, modified or damaged in any way, we will not process a refund.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item of same or greater value.
Order cancellations

Orders can be cancelled only if it has not been shipped from our warehouse.
No cancellation is applicable for customized products or services once the order is placed.
